I believe the pornstars name is Dolores Del Rio. (I may have the name replaced in my fragile memory by the 40's actress, or it may be the same name.) Anyhoo...she's frigging famous. I've seen her name in tons of places. Don't watch porn, so I've never seen her work. She walked over to our group, talking to someone about a floor somewhere that was striped. The first words I heard out of her mouth was "walking on it totally threw off my peripheral vision." Now...the "polysyllabic" in my little title means "multiple syllables, but four or more" in a word. "Peripheral vision"? The lady's intellect entered the room before her rather impressive physical self did. I fussed like crazy to get an introduction, which made her laugh. She appreciated the humor of the "PTA Mom nutsy fan" as much as I appreciated *being* one. We pleasantly chatted for a while and I got to run around telling people that I'd met her. That same convention brought me a famous content model, who turned out to have a lovely personality and ability to laugh at herself. I tormented her unmercifully when she showed up to work the convention floor. She had gold glitter on her stomach, so I did about five minutes on how it's not bad ENOUGH her stomach was so damned FLAT but she's got to go and put GOLD GLITTER ON IT. She blushed and laughed. At a different convention, I stood next to a young model who was nearly in tears because no one would accept the flyers she'd been hired to hand out. All I had to do was slaughter a couple of webmasters as examples to the others and people started taking the flyers. She was good company. The above babble is given as just a few examples of one of my own personal "adult 'net pet peeves." Don't...diss...the...content. None of us would have jobs without these people. We don't get to look down on them. If it weren't for the "content," there would be no porn sites and we'd all have to go get real jobs out there in the world. And frankly, one or two of us couldn't do that. Our skills don't quite transfer to the real world. Sure, some of the content will never be MENSA members. But I couldn't begin to list the webmasters I've met that won't be members, either. |
My question would be 'what advice would you give - pro and con - to someone thinking of entering the business?'

why did you get started in this biz?
I think that was the question I was going to ask... |
"If you could make a movie with any Hollywood actor, who would it be and why?"
|
honestly I know a few pornstars and regularly email or chat on the phone with a few. I refuse to ask any questions about work or why they got into it. Generally my gut always tell me regarding pornstars and celeb's that when they aren't in front of the camera, they don't want to be thought of as the 'person' they are acting like.
I remember when I met a TV star in Vegas one time and when he heard I was from Canada - came up to me and said, "so your from Canada too.. how does it feel to meet a big time TV star?" I smiled, looked at him and said, "surprised".. he replied.. "surprised that you have the chance>?" I said, "no.. surprised that I promised myself if I ever met you I would beat the shit out of you and I'm not" He laughed hard and put his arm around me and we became fast friends after that. He knew I wasn't sucking up to his celebrity status and I would always tell it like it was. On occasion I get a call from him when he is on TV asking how he did and I am blunt and honest with him. I don't really talk to any pornstar or celeb that i can't be truly honest with since they see fake people everywhere around them and I sense it would be a breath of fresh air to hear honesty and integrity once in a while. |
