How is it that a "Mississippi-based American Family Association" has so much influence over anyone, muchless the #5 cable company??

I have adelphia cable, after our cable system was taken over by them some years back. They killed off the playboy ch and such, soon after. No one said much here one way or the other...

a few qoutes from this story though, point out the hypocrisy of these kind of people.....

"Adelphia had not carried adult programming for more than five years. Company founder John Rigas previously dropped the softcore adult channel Spice after declaring that he found such programming to be immoral."

"The company, with over 5 million subscribers, filed for bankruptcy in 2002. Since then, Rigas and his son were convicted of conspiracy, bank fraud and securities fraud. They will be sentenced this month."

What a nice moral value system they have in place, eh?

It always seems to be that way... those that shout how righteous they are, are usually the ones with the dirtiest hands.

Geeze, that's who I use as my home provider. I did get rid of the cable tv though, after they raised my bill considerably without telling me. When I called the customer service guy he was all excited to explain to me how much savings I was getting by having both cable and internet servcie from Adelphia. I so wanted to reach through the phone and slap him.

He very happily proclaimed, "But you're getting a grand total savings of one dollar!". :bonk:

yes it does always seem to be the people screaming about how moral they are and how immoral we are that are the ones bangin the prostitutes, robbing old people and shooting up.
