How do *you* get traffic?
 

OK you've picked out your project and concept.
You've built your site and tweaked it until you're happy with the overall look and feel as well as the navigation.
You think to yourself, it's ready for some traffic.

Apart from moving your existing traffic around a bit to your new venture, how do you bring new eyeballs to your site?

I add all my links to start, force some from some of my sites and get a little help from choker traffic :)

Now where do you go to get fresh traffic?
Yes it can be purchased, that's one viable option.

What else do you do?

Pay per click yields the best results. The only problem is that keywords in the adult business tend to be pricey.

Optimizing your site and making it search engine friendly (Meta tags) doesn’t work anymore.

You got to love generic copy/paste replies to threads like this.

Some stuff I've done just to get traffic for free, with nothing at all, is link dumps and link lists. The dumps get the traffic in, then you can filter through the lists. Once you get rolling to a few thousand uniques/day this way (depends on the niche) then you have something you can trade with others.
