Geo target banners
They're great for targeting surfers. No doubt about that.
But what do you make of geo-targeting webmasters? I've seen a few of them around and I would have to say as a very seasoned webmaster, they don't influence me in the slightest. Thoughts? |
i will be interested to know coz they don't influence me either..

I am not influenced. Maybe the more newbie webmasters would, but by the time you are coding your own pages, you have seen most of the tricks.
GeoIP could be used to provide more accurate information to me, though. I would appreciate that... if the webmaster access show in my part of the world was coming up and it did a little something knowing that I'm local to the event, that would be cool. I'd still want to know about the other shows, as I might be travelling, etc. |
G'day,
One example I could suggest would be when Geo-targeting webmasters. It could be a helpful solution in selectively targeting by location, country to invite a potential webmaster who is residing close to the Corporation or Company. The influence can be non existent or it can increase the circle of influence. ie; A Company may want to sell a franchise of their own brand that already holds public awareness by location. There can be many examples in geo-targeting webmasters. When I think about Geo-targeting, I see it as being a highly motivated method of marketing. Mark |
