what does life really mean
 

Life is like a joke! Sometimes you laugh, you don't know what else to do! But what does life really mean? Life is a gift to be enjoyed, not a problem to be solved! :)

I haven't figured it out yet, but I have realized life is what you make it! :D

Life is a bowl of cherries, it's all about getting rid of the pits

the meaning of life is to do your best to teach those that follow you better then you were taught yourself.

Life is being with people. Sharing your pains, and success with them. It's something to be shared.

I agree with Funbrunette, life is what you make of it...there be no greater meaning for life that what you make out of it...

Most people are sheep who follow... not one who has followers.

The meaning of life is different for everyone. For some it's family, fun, experiences, traveling, financial success... and so on.

If there was ONE all encompassing meaning of life, then everyone would be striving for the same thing and we'd lose out on diversity.

Life... is like a box of chocolates - a cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that no one ever asks for, unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So, you're stuck with mostly undefinable whipped mint crap, mindlessly wolfed down when there's nothing else to eat while you're watching the game. Sure, once is a while you get a peanut butter cup or an English toffee but it's gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. In the end, you are left with nothing but broken bits filled with hardened jelly and teeth-shattering nuts, which, if you are desperate enough to eat, leaves nothing but an empty box of useless brown paper.

I didnt mean follow as in a leader and followers but as in those that come after you like family, mainly your children. But you are absolutly right, its completly different for everyone. What might make me feel whole and complete might not be what you or the next guy wants and crossing paths with those people on a different journey is what makes life interesting.

Life is entertainment for the gods so it's our responsability to make sure they have a good laugh

I don't think that's true. It's a nice thought, but not true. Especially these days.

Not everyone finds that "special someone" to live the rest of their life in love with.... heck, most people these days don't even find someone to stay married to longer than 10 years.

See, I think it's society that tells people that you must find love to be happy. I don't think you have to. I think you can live your life with friends and good times... I think you can finish your life having never had kids, a wife or even real love.

It's people saying "love is the meaning of life" and "there's someone for everyone" and "you can't go through life alone" and all that other crap that makes people depressed about being alone.

If no one ever said those things, it wouldn't bother you quite as much.

The meaning of life is not to be in love. If it was, 99% of the planet would be failing miserably 99% of the time.

Love is an added bonus. Take it when you can get it but don't make it the focus of your life... if you do, then the focus of your life could leave you at any moment... or not happen at all.

This is very true and well put. Its completly possible to live a fullfilled life without love or kids or any of that. Most people dont want to but believe it or not there are people who are happier alone. Humans are the only species that put so much weight on love. The euphoria that love can cause in some people is often confused and misread as fulfillment in life.

Yeah I'm not sure what the meaning of life is in general, I just explained what the meaning of life is to me. I hate the feeling of being alone, I'm always in company of friends or lovers or whatever I just hate being alone.

To live is what I would say if it was meant to the world as a whole.
