Decision on sex domain xxx postponed
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- The group that oversees Internet domain sites has again postponed a decision on a controversial ".xxx" domain for sex sites, the head of the organization said Monday.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, had been expected at its quarterly meeting in Vancouver to approve or kill the domain, which would give pornographic Web sites their own online neighborhood. But ICANN decided to delay a vote because some participants had not had enough time to review application materials, ICANN president Paul Twomey said on a conference call with reporters. "It was impossible to get sufficient time for consideration by the Government Advisory Committee members and therefore the board, the chairman decided to postpone the consideration," Twomey said. http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/interne...eut/index.html |
How long would it be under review?

its stated half way through the article |
Are you all for the new .xxx domain?
My thinking is that I will only go for the ones that I have the .com's for at present and if any new .com's come along. |
The whole xxx idea should be thrown in the trash.
But something tells me that it's going to happen, just because it shouldn't. We'll have to keep following it. |
I hate the XXX routine, its a scam and not good for the adult industry since many companies and providers will simply block the domains now that they can round us up in one, not too mention the rip off artists who are attempting to cash in at a higher rate for those domains !!!
