The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Penguins owner Mario Lemieux and his partners have been approached by "a few groups" interested in purchasing the franchise - and plan to begin negotiating with them.

At least one of those interested is a group from Winnipeg. Will we see a return of the Winnipeg Jets?

Those of us living in or around Winnipeg can only hope that Barry Shenkarow would somehow be involved in the purchase. :nuts:

it would be appropriate if Alaska had a hockey team named the Penguins - aren't there any millionaires up there?

I'm sure there are a few. But the starting price for the team is 100 million.
