AAAAARRRRRGGGGGG! what was that called?
Ok, there was a thread a while back about a dish to try while in Canada.
The dish was: fries covered in brown gravy with a white curd cheese over the top... I can't find the thread to find out what the darn thing is called... :geez: I'm in Vancouver wanting to find it to try, but have to know what the heck I'm asking for... HELP?! PLEASE?! :worthy::worthy: |
It is called poutine.

thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you now, just need to find someplace around here serving it |
I doubt you'll find it in Vancouver. Poutine is a Quebec thing. I've had poutine in Ontario, but it was gross.
|
I hate to break it to you. Even if you do find it through some fast food chain, it won't be even close to being as good as you'll find in Quebec. The Frenchies are the masters when it comes to good poutine. :)
|
 well shoot, I was really looking forward to trying it. guess I'll just have to wait until I get back that direction one of these times...
thanks! |
poutine.. still sounds like some kind of toilet part to me LOL
|
Aye, you can find it in Vancouver, but it will not compare to what you can get in Quebec.
|
you can find it in vancouver. check out any New York Fries joint and they will have it. mind you - not as good as quebec - but okay.
|
Ok, I'll be on the hunt today after the meetings are over :xthumbs:
|
We make ours at home just as often as ordering it out.
It's easy if you can find the right cheese curds. Shredded mozzerella isn't an acceptable substitute. |
It sounds weird but I bet it tastes great!
