Fastest train in the world

It goes over 500km per hour!

Is that the one that is Germany? It's magnetic and hovers over the tracks.

keithwoo 07-16-2007 03:35 PM

I think it is a magnetic levatation train. Japan and france have them also. Not sure who is fastest anymore.

sassygirl 07-16-2007 04:08 PM

damn that's fast....!

Cyndalie 07-16-2007 04:09 PM

That's sweet. I wonder how energy efficient it is .

I think that's going to depend on how you look at it. There are no fossil fuels directly used by the train since it's based on electromagnetism, but there's going to be a decent amount of electricity used to keep the train moving. All depends on how the electricity is generated and what it takes to keep the magnetic fields up to propel the train. Can't seem to find any quick information on that...

Fortunately there are many more clean ways to produce electricity so I'd hope that it's a lot more energy efficient than fossil fuels.

It's the one in Japan I think. That's so wicked fast!
