On the Advice of Chris....porn morality thread
Where do you draw the line? This recent scat thread brought up some interesting stuff.
You may not produce it. You may not host it. But if you are a couple of clicks away from gross stuff, you are still making money out of it. So where is your line in the sand? |
My line would be as long as it is not children and it is consensual then anything goes. Personally, I may not want to watch chicks eating shit but to each his own. I say let the free market decide.
|
I'm not too found of girls made to look younger than the legal age... also scat, vomit and enemas are pretty much out of the line for me.
I don't like watersports/gay/tranny but I don't say I wouldn't promote it if it was a good business opportunity. |
We cannot let out 'taste' impact our business unless (best case scenario)
we produce for our own specific fetish. We as an industry are doing our minimal best to protect kids and exploitation of adults is often called, um...what do they call it... oh yeah I got it now: BUSINESS! Some of the porn I sell makes me laugh; better that than get all emotional with it. Good threads, good thoughts, good drama. Gotta love a Monday... |
OK, would you promote, and/or be associated with a business that was before the court for obscenity? Or is anything "legal" ok in your book?

People with too many morals in this business make me laugh. Or rather, I should say, the ones who are vocal about it. I have my limits like anyone else, but I know when to say something and when not to.
There are however, things I see in this business that sicken me, but since they're legal I don't even bother with it. |
There's stuff I wouldn't say I'm morally objected to, I just have aversions to wanting to be exposed to. Anything illegal is out.
|
Yeah that's basically it Cyn. How did this become a hot topic? LOL

I think it is because we all have moral standards that we set for ourselves and we do our best to live up to those moral standards without pushing those standards on others. We do not have to talk about how high everyone standards should be but completly ignore those standards in out business and professional lives.

This has been on my mind all week. I used to live with a woman who worked for me on a video chat site and went on to *stardom* a few years later. She hit Playboy and becamer recognizable.
Many would ask me how can I allow my woman to do that? My honest response, a woman needing my permission *to be herself* could never interest me. So, my point...when emotions find us at work we are not prepared for them. Of all the boards I frequent, this is the only one speaking of values, ethics and morals. |
as long as it doesnt involve kids I am ok with anything
ok in so far as others promoting it I dont care for scat or animals myself |
Responses to this subject say a lot about a board and the people who populate it, don't you think?

BTW isn't that Tuffruff's old avatar? Or is that really you? |
By the way. At the university I go to, there is now a new field that you NEED to cover to obtain your Bachelor in Business Administration: Ethics
I that anyone that does business should by concerned by ethics and moral. It's pretty easy to step out of line running pretty much any kind of business. If you don't want to share your point of view, fine you can keep it for yourself but you should at least be aware and have one. |

There are two schools of thought here and then there's Nature's Laws.
Business is about acquiring goods and services by providing goods and services. You're either in it to sell everything you can to get as much as you can ( read the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition ) or you're willing to deal with inhibitions. Some people go for everything and end up destroying a market. Much like what happened in comic books on two occasions in the past 25 years. No restrictions nor moral standards regarding business ethics and the market crashed twice. How can you do business if you've destroyed it doing business? So part of business is to keep a market alive in order to continue using that market as a resource. When we make maple syrup we take sap from a tree but we don't cut the thing down. You can wait til next year and the next year etc. to continue to make syrup. In this business, the adult business you have such a wide variety of people and their motivations are different. Some are in it because they're greedy fucks who eventually meet their doom. Some are in it to make a protest ( your's truly ) and some are in it to add that extra income to take a bite out of crime, meaning credit card debt or school loan repayments or high mortgages and rents. Some for just enough money to pay high end premiums for health insurance. Now on the other hand you have what we call the 'marketing dead' aka 'zombies'. These are people who have to make money to pay off alimony or child support or the courts have their asses. Worse are people who are gamblers or junkies and have to make that money. These are the worse because they're desperate and will go to newer lows to stay alive. People out of control means business out of control. So what's moral depends on motivation. If people enjoy scat, to me it's gross but it's a primate thing. Most great apes play with shit all day and humans in the wild do too. So we have the anthropological angle. Primates play in their own shit. It's a fact. To us enlightened ones, it's gross, but to nature, it's how monkeys have fun. |
