Will the current Russian situation affect the election?

Could this be just the thing to extend Bush's term in the Whitehouse?
I mean people have been speculating on crazy stuff like this with almost tongue in cheek for awhile, but could this really happen?

I certainly hope not....

There are land mines here for both candidates - and wherever there's oil/gas there is going to be trouble - this might be worse for Europe than the US, those pipelines supply heat to Europe all winter...

Senator Obama could look really green here, and people could think Senator McCain will start a new cold war...land mines everywhere...PM Putin is 'old-school.'
