ICQ has just gone downhill....
It used to be this awesome little instant messaging tool which was fairly light, didn't use up much resources, and worked like a charm.
Now it's heavy, sluggish, and seems to give people a lot of headaches. I just downgraded from the latest ICQ6 back to 2001b and it's a heck of a lot better. What version are you using? |
Chris I agree with you that ICQ has just become shite with all the extra gadgets it comes with now.
I stick to MSN now, I got fed up of ICQ fast.
I have to say all my chats suck ass...msn is not better but the worst so far has to be the chat on Facebook...constantly says people are offline when they are not!!
I use icq 6 and have no problems with it whatsoever.
Yeah I have never had any real issues with ICQ ever, maybe 1 re-install. I tried light and it was a lil glitchy so I went back to the big one. I disable all the crap add ons.
The add-ons are for shit and they make things sluggish. But we can't do without ICQ. I talk to clients thru ICQ.
I use adium on OS X.
You should try pidgin or trillian. |
i'm running 2003b.
i prefer AOL, MSN and Skype over icq, but everyone seems to still use it, so i'm forced to deal with it. |
2003b is my version.
