It's unfortunate. Apparently one of the judges made a really bad call which cost him the gold. One of those things that everyone knew who the best should have been but for the judge's mistake. |
Yep Chris is right, he's not a sore loser, the judge made a very bad call. If I was the CIO I would give him a honorary gold.
That guy also won Silver at Athens. |
He was "officially" stripped of his medal as well.
This is a problem in Olympic competition. If a judge messes up, the athlete generally has zero re-course in most cases. |
