So where can I go?
I've got a few weeks off, I'm dying to go sit on a beach with some palm trees, but I'm scared shitless of all the hurricanes. Any suggestions?
I need to bake my ass one more time (I think it's safe to say summer is over here) :geez: Wow! We got a whole 3 weeks of decent weather! How's Fort Lauderdale? |
I am on my way there in the next couple of weeks lady, and as far as I know my friends say all is good and the hurricanes seems to be missing the Atlantic side....

Hawaii
I would go to Hawaii for sure. If you want to get away from the crowds, go to the smaller islands like Kauai, Molokai or Maui.
In the Caribbean, hurricane season is June 1 to November 31. August to October are the peak months so your timing is not good. The aftermath of a hurricane will affect your enjoyment as well, even if you miss the hurricane itself - flooding, repair work, closed businesses, debris on beaches, and reduced water visibility (if you like scuba diving). Dominixe |
Can I have your life... I haven't said "I have a few weeks off" I such a long time I can't remember :-(

No hurricanes in California baby......

A few weeks off...
September and October are the slowest months in the Florida season - rates should be their lowest and Fort Lauderdale is beautiful :) as Ike just skirted us to the west!

Absolutely! You can also have my 5 ulcers, a wonderful little 5 years old with special needs, a big house to clean oh and a nasty burn out. I'm on stress leave for 2 months. When do we switch? :laughout: |
California or Hawaii are about it if you wanna take hurricanes onto consideration.
