Conversions for Euro, charge their price or give discount?
 

Hi all....

What do you think the best way to go regarding over seas sales?

CCBill has this conversion where you can charge the local market rate for your site, vs. charging dollars and giving the Euro a discount.

I know if I see a site in dollars that costs $ 17.50 or something, it kind of looks sub par.

Do the Euros feel the same way when they see a site that costs $ 18,50 when it should cost $ 24,95euro??

So many variables... any advice or thoughts on the matter?

That's a really good question. While I would discount it, I wouldn't discount it under 20euro.

Do you mean if they see a site that should cost €24,95 but it costs $18.50?

If the site sells in U.S. for $ 24.50, it goes for around 18,50 euro.

And here in the States, if consumer sees a site that costs around $ 19.95, the site appears to be smaller or solo girl site with no frills.

So, I'm thinking, if our site appears in Europe for 18,50 euro, it might not get a good reaction.

We decided to go for the regional billing, which will raise the price to 24,95 euro. Which is good for sales, cause it will increase our income around 20% with the conversion from Euro to dollar. It's nice to have a weak U.S. dollar...we make more and our affiliates make more...!

......and now, we are off of regional billing...

why? cause after extensive research, it turns out that most Europeans EXPECT a discount when purchasing from USA sites, because everybody is aware of the cost of the US dollar.

It's insulting to them to jack the price up and charge their own dollar cost. That's partly why USA is so big with adult sites.... we have a great price...!

As a Euro, I find it very frustrating when I'm forced to pay more than Americans :) And I'm well aware about the convertion rate
