VBulletin or PHPBB?

I'd like to start a small forum which has nothing to do with adult but it's going to be about my aviation related hobbies.

Searching the web and reading techie's forums it looks like that everybody says: " go with VBulletin if you can spend the money "

$ 180.00 for VBulletin is not a big deal and i won't mind to pay it.

Beside the fee which gives you updates, support via email, etc, is Vbulletin developed better than PHPBB?

What do you suggest?

In my experience, VBulletin is much more powerful than any of its competitors but it's also a bit hefty in terms of templates. Some mods/hacks are easily installed while others are big and complicated.

Unless you're going with something big, I'd go with the latter. You can always change to VB any time you're ready to do so. VB imports databases from most any other board.

I have the phpbb 3.0 installed right now but the admin panel sucks , the V 2.0 was way easier to use.

my advice would be to go for PHPBB, it is easy to use and install, even the modifications are easy
