Some input would be appreciated
When we did the Reality 2.0 push for Topbucks we had a sort of "new template" for our sites. That was all well and good when it was part of a large, multi-site push, but now we've seemed to hit a snag.
Does using a template for our tour and site design make them look too similar to one another? Got a bit of feedback on that front when we launched TopShelfStuds and SwiftMaverick. Was that just some random comment, or is it a legitimate concern? How much should we vary the skins and layout of our sites? |
is this just a ploy to get me to look at gay porn?
They look different enough but I would change the navigation colors/buttons |
I worked in the gay industry for several years now - not sure who designed the site if they fully understand the community or not - but here are a few comments
1) the join now is at the bottom of the page - always make it easy to find 2) I would not promote any figures as to how much content is there merely because it is only growing and no one wants to hear that - they want to be enticed - not given facts 3) text - be careful on using terms that work in the straight market such as "fucking" and avoid using the term "gay". 4) SEO - what they want to hear and search for are terms such as "twink" - "bear" etc You only say 'gay' videos but do not define what sort of content you possess 5) Your comment is only on conversions - please tell us how many hit the first page, then your loss as they search the site - where are they going or clicking off. So I dont know if it is this page your bleeding traffic or not. First impressions to me is that this site was designed by a straight guy trying to use theories successful in straight design rather than actually understanding what the gay community actually is looking for. |
well duh. gay designers charge 3 times as much and insist on going bareback or they take twice as long.

I only have the data for overall conversions handy. I'll have to dig up more exact data, which might require me venturing into the "Cavern of the Programmers"
