Ohhhhh.... Betty!

Anyone that is interested in such things... and as adult webmasters you might find the history hitting close to home...

The creators of Betty Boop, the Fleischer Brothers, started much like Walt Disney in that they developed bawdy cartoons with sexual overtones... (Check out any of the early Micky Mouse toons, steamboat willie is FULL of barnyard/country humor... including Micky wacking off with a duck)... Whereas Walt cleaned up Mickey on his own though (you can track Walt's success and money by Mickey's dress and appearance) the Hays commission forced the Fleischer's to lower Betty's hemlines and tone down (actually all but eliminate) the double endure (early 1930's)...

As a direct result of government riding roughshod the Fleisher's finally decided to take it to the extreme... They purposely created a lanky, horsefaced female cartoon with barely any female attributes... The complete opposite of the sexual dynomo Betty was supposed to be... You know this beanpole of a woman as Olive Oil... Popeyes girlfriend...

Who says you don't learn anything in college...lol
