Hey Pimps and Pimpstresses,

I used to be a fan of webcams when workin but I dont have one anymore.

Do you even own one anymore? is it worth lookin into?

IF SO......What brand should I get? What the differences?



What do I need to make it a part of our site? A speical script or something? like a cutomer service cam. live 9-5. that kinda idea.

I use mine every so often, like on Yahoo while im talking to my friends.

I have the old fashioned Logitech Camera, it works fine for me :P

Webcam32 seems to be the program of choice when it comes to webcam software if you don't want a pic much more often than every 4 or 5 seconds. It comes with a java applet that is quite easy to embed in a webpage or a popup window. If you want streaming you can try EmuLive. It works well but it needs to be setup on the server so it's a bit more complicated.

Haven't used mine for years, I think I actually borrowed it away to a friend of mine... hmm!

I have an old Logitech QuickCam too....

It sits on the top of my monitor .... but I never turn it on .... dont really see the point. I occasionally hit it for new pics when I get cool toys or clothes and want to show them off (like my x-nations shirt)

But to leave it on constantly while I am working would drive me insane...

Same here. I've got an old Intel camera on my monitor that came with my computer when I got it. I've formatted my computer so many time since I got it, I don't even think I have the software for it.

I have a few Sony EVI-D100 but they are mostly used by my "girlfriends"

I had one of the first ones that came out. I got really pissed off with how bad it sucked and haven't bothered again. From what I've seen now (esp in this biz) its lightyears ahead of where it all started.

So go with the logitech :)

I've never owned a web cam, except for a pen cam that only works for a few minutes at a time. :)

I have a logitech, used to use it in netmeeting but now i have wireless cards and shit so i can only use it on yahoo. I just bought a new one yesterday, that clamps on top of my lap top. Logitech as well, but my other one has a floppy head lol

I hardly use mine... :(

BTW just b/c i have a webcam doesn't mean i'm giving private shows over here! rofl Enough with the requests! lol I hardly use it, it's mostly for a few select people. :) In tHAT way i mean! hahahaha

I just got back from future shop and I picked mysef up a logitech quickcam messanger.

Im playing with the software as we speak!! This is pretty cool.

Please add me to your yahoo list for that's where the camera seems to work best.

I bought a new logitech one for my laptop and it sucks ass, i need to take it back. It sits on the monitor but it wont' go into focus. I have no receipt either, we'll see how Best Buy comes through now! lol

I have an intel cam that I really like and it takes great pictures as well. Unfortunately it's buried somewhere in my garage and I have yet to seek it out as that is the land where spiders rule. Oh well, maybe some day...
