$2.50 per CPM?
2 questions: what is a CPM and is $2.50 a fair price?
|
CPM is the measure of cost per impressions. It's means the cost per thousand ads delivered, or the number of impressions. So a $2.50 CPM sounds great, but that REALLY depends on where they're coming from.
I'd be somewhat cautious because in most advertising campaigns, you've got to consider a lot of factors in determing the cost effectiveness. |
yup... like (for one thing) where the traffic is coming from and how qualified it is...

I was reading somewhere i think domainrental.com (not sure) rents out ur domain and pays you $2.50 CPM

They take one of your own domains, and rent it out? |

why not just throw a FPA or something to a free program and make way more then that |
Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. Why rent a domain when you can get them for so cheap now.
|
Well, that's why I was asking. I guess when they "rent" your domain it's really just buying your traffic. It didn't sound like a viable investment to me either but, I wanted to know what that $2.50 and all that was before I judged them. Thanx for all the help mangs. This board rocks.

I know a guy who makes all of his money leasing his domains. He purchased a bunch of domains years ago that get type-ins, but has no desire (or time) to run sites off of them. To be honest, I am not even sure he would know where to start running a site, so he just leases them out to people to use.
I suppose it is not a bad plan, they are all listed in SE's and get traffic, so if he ever does come to the darkside he will be ahead of the game :) |
