Satellite image sites

Have you guys ever played around on one of these sites? An example of one would be here. It's actually really kewl. On some of the sites, I couldn't believe the detail. I found my house and my parents house. I captured the image of my parents house and sent them an email. The subject was "Who's watching you?"

Kind of creepy, but kewl at the same time. Like that movie "Enemy of the State". Ever see that movie? Gene Hackman...

What do you guys think about this stuff?

Bahhh! Another US only site.

Its creeps me out, that anyone could learn so much info about me, and do this without much difficulty.

Enemy of the State was one of those movies that makes you think how easy it is for government to know our every move. They say its all in the name of National Security, but where do you draw the line between National Security, and an individuals right to privacy?

Just my 2 cents!!

Oh shit! Sorry about that. I'll have to see if I can find the International ones. I didn't think about it really. I was just having some fun looking around and seeing what I could get into. http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/r/sgrin.gif

Toronto had a couple of good images but the USGS maps look like Photoshop textures. LOL

The first couple of times I saw photos like that on television or n the net it kind of freaked me out ... they used to threaten to shoot us if we talked about them when I was in the Navy.

That's pretty cool.

I found our office.

At this point in time it doesn't bother me too much. However, it will be a different story when hi-res real time satellite images become publically available.

Hmmmm, I better go register satellite-voyeur.com.
