Need Help with Database for Verotel
 

Hello,

Obviously I am new to this site, but thought you guys might be able to help me. :D

I am trying to start up a paysite. I would like to use Verotel for my credit card processing. I need someone to help me with the steps needed (such as setting up the database, etc). I have given my host over a year to set my site up, and have gotten no where.

He is remaining my host at this time, but I need someone to help me get the site up and running (the paysite).

If anyone can help, please please let me know. I want to get this site running.

Hi Valerie. With almost all of the billing companies out there you get free installation if you ask them. Verotel should be no exception. In most cases, if you are on a Linux server, installation takes only a few minutes. All that needs to be done is to copy a few files to your cgi-bin and change your .htacess files a little. As long as you have a server with cgi access there should be no problems and no database stuff to worry about. The more complicated part of the job is getting things set up on the processors servers so that's one reason they will usually install it for you at no cost. They have to have access to your server anyway so that they can gather information for the configuration on their end.

It's worth mentioning that if you are with a hosting company that is not familiar with the adult business they likely have no more idea how to set things up than you do. I would strongly suggest in that case that you switch to an adult oriented host asap. It will save you a lot of hassles in the long run. Possibly even in the short run.

I don't believe that my host is familiar with Adult Services. Can you recommend a host? Also, my host is a Windows Server.

Umm. Did I say that they weren't? Last time I checked Verotel wasn't a hosting company.

Chances are Verotel (or any other billing company) may not be able to install on your Windows server. Authentication, etc. on Windows/IIS is completely different from Apache/Linux. If your server runs Apache and not IIS then maybe they will be able to do it. We run Windows/IIS and had to get a custom program written to do the job. I don't know if it is even possible to buy a script for an adult site that would work for you.

The trouble with Windows/IIS is that there is very little available that is not made for some kind of auction or portal site.
