Hows everyone feel about CCBill
 

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to ask a quick question or two regardin CCBill... I went to their site, and they seem to be the best as far as rates and pricing. I wanted to find out who here uses them, and if you would recommend them?

I've been using CCBill without incident since 1998 !

I also choose sponsors who use CCBill ahead of other sponsors.

They pay on time all the time!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with CCBill.

Now, does this also resolve the Adult Verification process?

Because if you have a credit card then you're above 18? Or at least you have to enter your date of birth when you enter all the billing information, and possibly your social.

Or am I required to have another method of verification? I mean, aside from the obvious "This site is rated [M] for Mature audiences only" ;-)

I had a talk with people at CCBill recently... They said that having the use of a CC is not a very strong proof that your client is of adult age. Kids steal their parent's CC, etc. He said "basically, on the net, there is no way to ascertain the age of a customer, CC or not." I was asking him if it was OK to show pink in free pics. He replied on a tone that meant that "hey man, this is the internet...". I asked what was their legal position on the matter and he pretty much dismissed this issue, by his tone of voice maybe hinting that even the courts now realise that there are no ways to stop underage people to access the content.

Thanks for your 2 cents, I went ahead and put it in the piggy bank. I'm going to have a ton of disclaimers to cover my ass on this one, but yeah it is the internet, and the disclaimers will be clear enough that the parents shouldn't/can't get angry at me for that... plus, why dont they just put netnanny on that box of porn... thats all the internet is good for anyway ;-) that and spreading viruses....

I also found out that CCBill cannot accept Visa unless you're located in the US or EU. And Visa would be a lot of valuable customers, so im getting that settled right now before anything... then I gotta get all the content together....

its gunna be a process, but well worth it.

I appreciate everyones input, hopefully we get the ball rolling. I started purchasing domains already, If I end up not using any of them im post them up here for sale i guess...

CCBill is one of the few processors that I have 100% confidence in. They have been my primary processor for a long time (and secondary for even longer) with no problems.

With billing companies going belly-up left and right, CCBill isn't going ANYWHERE.

Feynman I'm not sure what message you were trying to convey in your reply. Could you elaborate? Or maybe start another thread on the matter?

kaustic, you ask what we think about CCBill as a processor. I can only give you high recommendations. I've been using them at various degrees since 1998 without any problems any other processor would also have. Plus, their sales staff are extremely cool and helpful.

As it was already stated thay pay on time every time! I have nothing but praise for the folks over at CCBill, if you need a great rep contact Swapna swapna@ccbill.com she is fantastic and has always been there for us.
