Whats the first CD you ever bought
 

This is a spinoff of Evil Chris's thread.
He gave me the idea so he gets part credt here.

2 questions.

1. Whats the first CD you ever bought or had someone buy for you.

2. Whats the first rock band you heard during the era when Disco was dying.

For me it's as follows

1. I bought Tears for fears - Everyone wants to rule world.

At the time thast the best one I could find in the store. Almost no selection.

2. My first intro to rock was Van Halen.
The first one they did with Jamies Cryin on it.

first CD I ever bought was yeeeeeeeears ago, was "2Unlimited"

in regards to the 2nd question I really can't remember :)

The first CD I ever bought was Eric Clapton "Timepeices". Still have it. Picked it up with my new-fangled "Compact Disc Player" that had just hit the market in 1982. The thing was big enough to store body parts in.

Aerosmith. I had no use for the boogie-woogie-oogie crap, even when it was popular.

I guess the thing for me is I was a kid when disco was around and hadn't really heard good heavy metal rock yet. So I have a very distinct memory of hearing my first rock music. It wasn't something I grew up with from the time I was born like a lot of people.

Even better was the first time I heard a blues song. I mean old blues like Robert Johnson or Son House.

I've always been a fan of Jimi Hendrix and I still love discovery new songs of his that I 've never heard.

It was only about 2 years ago when I heard "burning the midnight lamp"
Everyone know the popular ones like purple haze but I find this other song so much better in a lot of ways.
I think Purple haze is just worn out though too. Heard it to many times now.

first cd.. mm.. think it was "priscilla" from the movie... questions like this sure does get the mind thinking...

the first CD i bought was Madonna's Immaculate Collection and i still have it. as to the 2nd question, i really don't remember...:-D

First CD I ever bought? Dire Straits. The one with Sultans of Swing on it.

At the end of the disco era, I was listening to Pink Floyd The Wall, Cheap Trick, and of course KISS. :)

The first Cd I pruchased was "Violator" by Depeche Mode.......still love it:D

Funny heard a remix of their stuff this morning on the way into the office.

Brothers in Arms is one of those good "collection" releases. Every song is good. Handy to have those (or dubs) in the car on long drives.

The funny thing is that I bought my 1st CD player, and I wanted to buy Brothers in Arms but I grabbed the wrong CD.

SLAYER "Reign In Blood" my cassette version was wearing out and I had a huge cassette and vinyl colletion, so started converting over...
first album I ever bought was Iron Maiden "Piece Of Mind" and that same week my mother bought me Judas Priest "Stained Class"

I bought that one too soon after I first got my CD player.

First CD I ever bought was Roxette - Joyride, I was like 11 or so.. next ones were Guns 'n Roses, Sepultura, and from then on it was only heavy shit I purchased :)

I really like that song Roots Bloody Roots by Sepultura.

First cd was Keith Sweat and he's still dope. :)

well I got a CD Player and cd's for Christmas when I was a teenager, I got 2 Warrent and 2 Poison CD's as gifts but the first one I bought myself but it was one of these 4, INXS, Damn Yankees, Skid Row or Motley Crue


I spent alot of gift money on CD's that year so its hard to remember which was first.

The first CD I ever got was Alice Coopers "Trash" in 1989 for X-Mas!

I think I was first introduced to rock thru listening to Kiss!
