I saw Northern Lights tonight!!
 

Driving home from downtown, I thought it was a smudge in the windshield.. til I looked up and saw the sky was luminescent green, with hazy curtains of light dancing in the atmosphere.

It was awesome. :)

I think Evil Chris really likes that sort of thing.

Is it something that happens all the time?
I have never seen it other than what they show in movies, like the core.

I've never seen northern lights before.. I thought we had to be way further north.. like Alaska. lol

We see them very well from our backyard! It's such a spectacular thing to look at! :D

Here's a link that tells you when and where you can see northern lights in North America. It's quite reliable, and yes I see that it's been extending a lot farther south than usual!

You have not "seen them" until you are north of the Artic circle... trust me, it's something you have to see to belive.
