This happens a lot when I can't sleep. Personally, I feel most of the great philosophers had fibromyalgia but it hadn't been diagnosed back then.

Why do things to which you input your password feel the need to turn your password into big dots or asterisks, thereby preventing you from knowing if you typed it corrrectly? Surely they're not trying to hide your own password from YOU? Are there mad, roving bands of over-the-shoulder peepers of which I have been so far uninformed? Do most people on the internet set up shop in the middle of a bus station or some such public place where passers-by with little to do peek at passwords to kill time?

I like to think about these annoying little things, especially at 1:00 AM.
