I don't do a lot of screen caps, but I have done a few.

We use Paint Shop Pro. It's about a $75.00 program, but I believe there might be a "free trial" somewhere on the net. It's as easy to use as what you stated you would prefer.

Start paint-shop, hit "capture", play the video, pause, click the button and the image on screen is captured for ya.

Pretty schweet!!
