Exercise more --- yes.
Eat less --- not nessecarily. Eat differently, like try sticking to the whole grain foods in the morning, have some fruit during the day and eat an extra portion of veggies with your dinner.
Trim the fat off the meat, take the skin off the cnicken, and try barbecuing instead of frying.
Cook veggies lightly, don't boil the shit out of them.
Just eat less of the fatty foods and more of the fresh grown foods. Couple that with regular exercise and you're back in the zone in 6 weeks or so.
