It has been a while, but as I recall Boston was ahead and could have won the series with a victory that night. An easy grounder went right under his glove. The Mets scored the game winning run on that play and later won the series.
i thought they won the series on bucker's mishap. I didn't get to watch that series (i was at the time a huge mets fan, gooden and darryl "i got the coke straw-berry were my heroes) I was unfortunately soaking in the sun in acapulco mexico
