I guess i can give you an honest explanation from my perspective.
I can't say that we invented fish hooking , but we are definitely trying to brand it as part of our style.
Fish hooking is kind of what anal or facials where back in the early days of porn. Anal or a big facial wasn't something you would do everyday to your girlfriend or wife. ( in general ). If you where having a loving moment with your sex partner you wouldn't think to do it.
It is not degrading as much as everyone thinks, some girls in fact really enjoy it as much as they enjoy rough sex. Some girls even do it to themselves.
I think it helps conversions if you are sending hard core traffic. It may not convert the same if you are sending Non nude traffic for example.
