"Chargebacks, one of the biggest headaches of processing credit cards for porn sites, typically occur when, say, someone's wife finds out he's been buying porn. Rather than owning up, the aggrieved party tells the credit-card company that he's shocked--shocked--that someone else was purchasing porn on his card, and demands that the charges be removed"

What pisses me off the most about the whole chargeback issue is that it is COMPLETELY caused by the CC and billing companies. Their own policies of no questions asked refunds on adult sales is the thing that makes the problem that they keep bitching and moaning about. The case that forbes wrote about with the guy pretending he didn't charge it is a good case in point. The ips are logged for every damn transaction. If that was just mentioned in passing when the joker calls up to cancel 95 percent of them would drop it right there.

So it is common knowledge that most chargebacks are caused by fraudulent cardholders, and yet WE STILL get blamed for them! Here are a few more quotes:

"...the symbiotic relationship between porn operators and the legitimate companies that allow them to thrive...."
Does Forbes normally make a point of describing companies as "legitimate"? I doubt it unless they are trying to imply that other companies in the article are illegitimate.

"IBill and firms like it have become so influential in the porn trade that they act somewhat as policemen by weeding out extra-sleazy operators and frauds."
Does that mean the rest of us are just "regular-sleazy"?
