I'm not on AOL's list. I've never received one of their CD's. I used to get so much junk mail, that I'm surprised I never received one or 10. Some of my friends used to use them as coasters or they were kept for when they felt the urge to smash something instead of their computers.

It sucked when they stopped using floppys.
At least then you could reformat them and use them for useful data

That's an idea. Write and suggest them to send their stuff on white labelled re-writeables...

I think AOL has stopped sending out cds over here because I haven't had one in ages. They are still on the front of most computer magazines though. My supply from previous years might run out in a decade or so and then I will have to start buying coasters again.

The floppies were great. I went from paying 5 bucks a box quite often to buying none at all. I told everyone I knew at the time to pass them on to me when they'd get them.

Of course the floppies were all encrypted with the subliminal message "AOL is God and Bill Gates sucks".

That's ok. I formatted them and inserted my own subliminal message:
"you want to see the pretties. enter credit card, go clicky clickies!"
