I stopped watching the news years ago...What's the point?!? It's ONLY bad news!!! Don't get me wrong I'm still aware of what's going on in the world, but I'm extremely selective of what I read! Life's way too short to sulk and worry about everything!

I'm with FunB on this one....

I stopped watching the news after I left high school - no need to watch it. Its all bad and depressing. Nothing good EVER.

If I must know about something going on that only the news can really tell me, I watch BBC america. Its waaaaay better than american news. More real life, world events instead of "and again today, someone got shot in L.A."

News Sucks!

I read a great book once called The Gift of Fear by Gavin DeBecker that gave a clear insight on exactly HOW negative the news really is! Since then I've noticed that whenever I watch the news it's nothing but bad news, fear tactics and a detailed list of every crime for the day and how it's likely it can happen to you.

Now with all this talk of war the news networks are relentless at creating as much fear as possible. It's terrible.

I've never been a news watcher/reader. It depresses me aweful. However, I do like knowing what's going on. So, instead, I do two things to stay informed...

In the 45 minutes in the morning that I'm awake, getting our son off to school, I watch CNN. I can get a quick look at what's going on, without a lot of the in-depth "fear-throwing" looks into how aweful our world is lately. Just get the highlights and leave the depressing parts out, thank-you-very-much-time-to-get-on-with-my-life-now news.

Secondly, I watch "The Daily Show", with Jon Stewart. If I've gotta listen to depressing stuff, I might as well do it with him. He's incredible at taking the sad (or often-times stupid) shit going on and at least helping us cope. I LOVE Jon Stewart!! LOL ("Craig, who??")

Huggs!!
