I've taken to listening to Flash 92.1 , a station out of Sacramento, California. My daughter listens to it, and listening to the same channel is a nice, companionable thing to do for us. It's also an oldies "and more" station.
Nina Blackwood, one of the original MTV VJs is one of their disc jockeys, for those of you trivia freaks in the audience.

Nice... well I'm by no means on that same station each day.
When I'm really feeling adventurous I go over to Mike's Radio World and listen in on a local European station.
It's funny to listen to the German station I used to hear overseas.
Plus I get to brush up on my German.

My father was stationed for years in Germany. (This was after I left home, so I was never there.) My little brother was the only one to come away with the language. It came in handy when he grew up and got a job with a German company, here in the US.

sadly I watched radio free colardo fall into nothingness as their owner basically walked away two weeks ago playing the german national anthem on a sunday night until they shut it down. someone pissed him off - until the whole site and station is gone.
I really did enjoy that station.

Chris, 97.7 is one of my favorite web radio stations!!
Ant, thanks for sharing that song. Not only very cool song, but I'd definitely "hit" the lead singer. Mmm.

I listened in for awhile, but he kept playing the same playlists over and bloody over.

I shocked myself. Yesterday I was listening to classical, mostly Bach for a few hours. Not sure why the change, but it was a very nice change actually. I plan to do that more often.

I frequently listen to classical music while I'm working, Drav. It's soothing and helps me think. Music with lyrics is distracting, as my mind tends to either be caught up in good lyrics...or sigh heavily and rewrite bad ones. I listen to what is called "Light Classical" on the cable television music channels.
I also like to listen to the salsa channel, because even if they do have lyrics, they're in Spanish, which is soothing.
It also makes my neighbor Francisco tend to boogie while he's doing yard work if he hears it. Fun to watch.
