Beckham likes to eat posh!
So, calling all sportsfans! Will David Beckham's L.A. arrival help make pro soccer big in North America?
He did play for my beloved Manchester United when they won the treble. Am I spelling that right Mr Nova? It means the won three majors by the way. Brits talk funny. I like them very much.
It took me a few years to get hooked on the game.
How about the rest of you pornsters? Will pro soccers make it to the North American water cooler club?

Football is for the closet homos. Watching men running around in heavy upper padding and skin-tight pants? C'mon...

I think slowly it will.We are seeing the emergence of the teams on a world class level with America making the Worldcup on a pretty regular basis now & Canada not to far off (our womens team is better). The hardest part for us has been keeping our talent here & not have them going to play overseas. But now that we have a league that seems stable in the U.S. & Canada with a big name like Beckham coming over and our young guys staying here instead of trying to play in europe it seems it could work.
We are a nation of immigrants, soccer is pretty much still big here... its just we are watching it from overseas, and not at our own club levels. Now that we are starting to build our club levels better and keep talent, our attendance to games will grow, & our level of play will also increase. It may take 10-15 years to build the interest to something worthwhile, but it will happen.
Those are my 2 cents..

Soccer has some tough competition to win over the Americans. Football, baseball, and basketball have been dominating for generations. Soccer is definitely getting more attention, but I don't think it will dominate any time soon.

Im hoping he will...soccer in the US just needs some more boost for some publicity to make it famous like basketball and football. In time it will..

problem with soccer in the USA is that there isn't a "hero" or history to go along with it. Everyone knows baseball etc.
We need to wait until Disney or some other media icon does a movie or TV show on it before it because popular

We have to many sports in the Usa. To much to compete with so it might get bigger but never like football.
