Google adwords

Anyone using Google Adwords to purchase traffic?
I am trying them out based on a few recommendations, and so far it's working out well.

I have it narrowed down pretty specific on the keywords, taking mostly exact phrases.

Anyone got any advice on Adwords?

watch your spending... if you go liberal with keywords and bids you can rack up big charges with little results.

Adwords are so-so IMO. You can get good results with highly targeted keywords/phrases, but it requires some testing and tweaking.

Yes, I know about watching the spending. I learned my lesson with findwhat a couple years ago.

I do like the adwords interface a lot better. Easy to use.

I know I'm not suppose to really link to other boards, but I thought you wouldn't mind EC.... it's relative to this thread, someone asked about adwords on GFY and there are some good responses.

Gunner, I read through that thread. Obviously the guy didn't know what he was doing, and I'm sure he didn't put a daily cap on his spending.

My keywords at Google are [very] specific to the niche I'm going after, and I often pause my campaign and study the situation. I also tweak the words in the ad. I'm learning along the way, and I have been converting some of that traffic.

it has paid off for me on some mainstream products but it didn't really do that great for adult even when I was using very specific terms for fetish sites. Who knows, maybe i gave up too early on them
