Can you have morals in porn?

It's long been argued that this industry has no morals. It's also been said that we don't need them.

Aren't morals merely a set of rules that we give ourselves to sleep better at night? Where do you stand? Is it possible to have morals and be in porn?

Do some people confuse morals with ethics or vice versa?

This question has been asked many times over the years, and I'm always interested to see how and if the answers ever change.

I have found the adult industry has some of the highest morals and ethics around when it comes to responsibility in handling models, legal and at times business transactions. You can't burn bridges here, do so and you are remembered for a long time as someone NOT to do business with.

Good point to ponder as morality seems to more of a private club issue than an aspect of logic. I agree with you re ethics as they can/ should be applied in all endeavours. Up here in Canada we can get kind isolated, our politicos haven't yet learnt how to use scripture and 'morality' as a political speerhead.
Problem with speerheads, ya all gotta duck when they are thrown @ you. For the record, I just came back to the biz after a few years in Tellecommunications and what seemed like an eternity working 4 AOL. (It was only 6 months but damn...) So my point, the people I know in THIS biz are some of the most solid and creative and HONEST animals I have known. It is good to be back...and thanks for the topic!

I guess I have morals... I must have them. It's like religion maybe. I believe in what I want and it's nobody's business but mine. That make any sense?

I kind of think along those lines....unless my putt is about an inch from the cup and "accidently" bumps against my foot and falls in...because there is usually a dollar or two on the line...hehe

I think there is room for morals anywhere, and there is definitely no lack of morals in this business. Not to say some people don't lack them, but I would say far more lack ethics.

Just because we work in the realm of sexual entertainment does not mean we don't have morals or ethics. We just have a different view of sexuality. Just because you believe sex is something to be enjoyed and open about rather than ashamed of doesn't mean you wouldn't coach a little league team, or give money to charity, or help an old lady across the street.

Porn is no different from any other business. Having worked in various fields, you can easily be immoral as a bank teller. You get my drift? People hear the word "PORN" and automatically assume...Well I've met some people with excellent work ethics and more morals than a priest molesting little boys! *wink* With that being said every world has it's bad apples!
