Have you ever received a bouquet of red roses from someone that you were NOT dating, were NOT going to date, and someone you were not together with?

IE have you ever received red roses from a friend, collegue or whomever (that you were not in any way romantically involved with)?

Take the poll, and feel free to post who or who didnt give you roses.. ;-)

nope... in fact, I've only ever received a bouquet of roses once in my life.. and that was just before I was proposed to..

though if anyone WANTED to send me flowers, I sure wouldn't be offended no matter WHAT kind of flowers they sent..

why? do you have a colleague/friend you want to send flowers to? If you're not romantically interested in her, I'd suggest picking something OTHER than roses though.. roses are known for their romantic message (PLUS they're bloody expensive!

I've received red roses as well as other roses and various flowers from people I was not romantically involved with.

I was adopted on Valentines Day. When I was a child, that particular day was treated as though it were another birthday. I used to get lots of candy as well as some kid toy type thing. Then when I hit my later teen years and into my adult years, my mom and dad would switch up roses they had for me. Some years, it was red roses, other years it was a mix between red, white, and pink. They send me roses and various flowers every single year for Valentines Day.

When I graduated high school and tech school, my grandparents had sent a huge bouquet of red roses with a handwritten note saying how much they loved me and how proud they were.

On my 21st birthday, my best friend from home, who happens to be a guy, sent me a bouquet of red roses. He did it simply because he knew I loved them so much. He did the same for my 30th birthday as well as included 2 white roses because they looked so cool.

Actually I've only received Red roses from BF or lovers...lol Pink, yellow and white roses are great for co workers of friends!

i received roses from boyfriends and friends too. of course they i know how much i love flowers.

if you're planning to give someone unattached to you, try a different color of roses or a diff. type of flowers. maybe gerbera or carnations would be pretty enough.

I have recieved roses from guys I havent been involved with..but they havent been red ones.. although a bunch of pretty appricot coloured roses were close

Actually I received a bouquet of flowers form my BF when we have a big fight... I can't remember what the exact thing is... he went in our house and asked for forgiveness... of course I love him... I said "yes, you are forgiven"

And I also received a Red rose from my suitor... he doesn't believe that I have a BF... I don't want to dump him so I introduced to him my BF and that is the starts of the day he never talk to me neither see me.

I love sending them or giving them myself. In each of my relationships, I give one nice bouqet or a single rose/ flower each week.. Simply love it. Part of keeping that romance alive.

The reason I started this thread wasnt really to get advice on giving a girl roses. Im in advanced mode on that. :-)

It just happened that I got attracted to a girl that works in the gym. Ive walked past her many times, but just the other week, it struck me how nice she is.. So I started talking to her, and thought Id do my "usual" thing.. (sending flowers and charming her). My approach never failed me..

A few days ago she invites me in to her office over a cup of coffee.. And at the exact time the thought of sending her flowers pops in my head, I see a bouquet of red roses hanging on one side of the wall. And thus this question (read the thread title), struck me.

I always, only sent red flowers as a sign of love or... When I want to love someone. And sticking to other flowers when it comes to friendship etc.. Hell.. Even florists says the same thing.. Red roses are generally for the LUV THANG.

But anyway.. thats how this thread got started. The thought of her having a Boyfriend that sent her those red roses crossed my mind. Altho it might be her mom aswell.. hehe..

I just wanted to do my own lil poll here on The X. My guess before posting this was that NOT many girls get red roses if there isnt some form of romance involved..

flowers every now and then? you have a lot of budget huh.. it's not that cheap nowadays to send flowers.. and i've always thought if i make it regularly, she will expecting it always which may resort to some other conflicts..

I dont think flowers are that expensive.

Sure, some bouquets are expensive, especially the bigger ones that are custom and put together by the florists themselves, but if you are on a tight budget, theres no need to buy those.

Compared to other things (gifts or whatever), that someone can give to another , I would say flowers are cheap.

And if money is a problem, you can get the message across with one single flower and a "I LUUUV YOU" note. hehe. A friend of mine has the money, but dont wanna spend it, so he buys one single rose each time he gives it to his girlfriend..

cost of that single rose: 3$.
Effect of that single rose: Happy girlfriend that feels appreciated. Lots of hot sex.
