What are the current methods of doing promotion aside from tgp/mgp submission?

One thing that won't hurt is networking - I've always said that I may not know everything about the industry, but I sure as hell do know someone who does.

Your best bet is read read read then read some more - network with those that have notable success and request being mentored. Not all methods work for everyone and depending on your budget and time lines may not work either for you.
