Speaking of hockey, my friend Jeremy gets me to go to the games when he visits. Here is a picture of him in SI. HILLARIOUS! He sent it to me and I couldn't help making it into a priceless pic.

Junior games can be totally the best!!! Especially when their are scouts in the audience and the players know it!
Well, I'm in Montreal and this is a HUGE hockey city... I go to see the Canadiens play about a dozen times every season...

I love hockey. I'm a HUGE Bruins fan, but I just generally enjoy the sport a lot. Of course I want the Bruins to win, but in a pinch, I'll settle for the Canadiens and Rangers losing.
I enjoy NHL games, but they lack a passion that lower level leagues have. US college hockey games are a blast, especially the BeanPot games in Boston (an annual tournament amongst local universities). BeanPot games can make even the sterile new Fleet Center rock.
Mostly, I like games where the players still play for pride...

Philly is fortunate, as our AHL farm team (phantoms) play right next door in the older arena. So you can almost always find some good hockey going on
I love the AHL games, tickets are only $20.00 for first level, action is usually twice as much. We usually take a group of rent-a-kids with us, as the games are family oriented. So it works out well.

I remember in the mid-80s... going to see the Habs play at the old Montreal Forum. Those were the days! I couldn't afford to get a regular ticket most times, so I would get an 18 dollar standing room ticket which was the best. For an 8pm game, you needed to show up at the Forum about about 5:30 and stand in line for an hour.
Then everyone would literally rush in for the best standing spots at center ice right above the reds.
I don't think there are any arenas left in the NHL that offer standing tickets are there?

Not a big hockey fan, but a huge sports fan in general. So I respect hockey, but like the typical American, prefer Football, Baseball, and even a little basketball(in that order).
Go Cowboys!!

I just can't justify dropping $70 per for our rent-a-kids who are not going to watch most of the game and be subjected the the philly crowd The phantoms games are oriented towards them, so they the do keep their interest much more.

I have to agree with Evil Chris! It is the best rivalry in sports. Going to the Joe, seeing the Leafs and Wings play is a great time.
