New member, hello
Hello I'm Dasha and I'm new to this forum.
I'm just a starting designer and I hope I can get into adult design. So big HELLO to all boys & girls out there.

Hello, Dasha!
I see that your location says "Slovakia."
My husband is Slovak. His grandparents came over to the US. I remember meeting his grandmother for the first time, a delightful woman who plunked a bottle of brown liquor down on the table so that we could toast - well, everything. She took me downstairs to show me the jars she'd put up that summer. At first I thought I was totally smashed...then realized the labels were all neatly written in Czech.
Actually...I *was* totally smashed.
Baba was "old country." All she asked of me was that I made my own bread and gave her grandson babies. I did both. She was one of the few people in my life that accepted me totally as I am and I miss her dearly.
Welcome to XNations. As luck would have it, I need a couple of banners!

hello Morgan, very nice story! Yeah, people are mostly nice here, especially the old ones. And young kids are wild and crazy as everywhere in the world
Btw, tasting home-made wine, spirits or liquor for a guest is kind of tradition here. You are lucky you weren't offered one of those 60% home burned spirits, lol

Dasha...my husband has one or two stories about his grandfather and homemade liquor. Well, half-remembered stories that make him groan, anyway!
I still make several of the recipes Baba taught me: pierogi, halushki (sp?) but I absolutely refuse to make the "egg cheese." Omigosh, I thought that was gawdawful.

Everybody can welcome everybody, Deuce! We're a friendly bunch. It's also good for the "new kids" to know that there are other "new kids."
