Video Application
I'm not good working with video clips, so I could use some suggestions here.
I'm looking for an application that will let me take a 1 minute video clip in either WMV or MPG and reduce its file size or even chop it down to 30 seconds maybe?

Sony Vegas! Easy to use... You have easier apps aswell, but they are not as good.

I just need to take clips and shorten them and make the file size smaller.

I use Vegas but it wasn't all that user friendly, compared with Premiere. For some reason I thought you were looking to do batch editing... not sure where the idea came from.

Assuming you're using a Windoze machine, Premiere is the most useful, but also the most complicated and something less complicated might suite your needs better, unless you're batch processing loads of clips. I'm not sure what the latest consumer level video editor for Windoze is. If you're on a Mac, iMovie is excellent, but I believe there is a PC equivalent.
