Default What music defines the 80s for you?

Sometimes I'll hear a song from the 80s and I can pinpoint where I was, and what I was doing. The music itself isn't necessarily what I am a fan of, but I do enjoy hearing it because of the memories it brings back.

For example, The Thompson Twins, Nick Kershaw, Big Country, and early Duran Duran remind me of when I lived in Downsview (part of Toronto).

Anyone remember a band called T'Pau ? They remind me of summer holiday leave at my parent's house in the mid-80s.

What defines the 80's for you?

Chris, I do the same thing! When I hear 80's songs, I remember what I was doing when the song came out.

don't forget Prince, Van Halen, Flock of Seagulls, Devo, etc etc

"She Blinded Me With Science" -- or was it her boobies?

Bob Seger - Shakedown

Summer of 87 in Muskoka out waterskiing with the song CRANKED on the boat cassette deck!

Everytime I hear that song I remember fondly the BEST summer of my life: Boating, Beer, and Traci -- that Uber-cute blonde accross the lake that both me and my best friend wanted to bed, but only one of us did -- several times I might add -- and it wasn't him
