What makes you feel better when your sick?

So I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and the sniffles. Today it's a full fledged cold...
I took some Zicam to try and speed things up and even took a bit of codeine cough syrup. But I still feel like some thing the cat dragged in.

Any helpful home remedies that might make me feel at least some what human?

you ready?

take a snifter and put in a tablespoon of honey, squeeze half a lemon into it, then put 1.5 oz of good bourbon, not Jack Daniels crap, but more like MakersMark or Blantons...then put in about 5 oz of hot water...

you will feel much better in about an hour...the bourbon kills the virus in your throat...

I find taking a nighttime Contac C Complete when I go to bed doesn't always make the cold go away, but it's a lot more sufferable until it does leave.

To curl up in bed and be left alone. I don't want to be around anyone when I don't feel well.

Get some Buckley's. That stuff is so nasty that it will kill anything lurking in your system.

Soak in a hot bath, as hot as you can stand it. You want to raise your body temp. Then go and put on sweats and go to bed. You want to have enough clothes on that you sweat big time. The idea is to keep your body temperature high, so it kills the virus. You'll sweat big time, but you'll feel better in the morning.

I ended up trying what Panky suggested. I remember the worst flu I ever got I had bundled up in sweats and piled the blankets on the bed. Then I downed some nyquil and slept for about 18 hours. I felt all better when I woke up. Didn't work quite as well this time because the fan was pointed at the bed. :P
