Question domain registration question

How should one feel if they register a deleted domain name? Should one feel bad if they do register a name that someone else once had?

Like there are a few search tools that can be used to locate them.

Would you say it is a good or bad thing.
Could you share your thoughts please.

I don't see anything wrong at all in registering a name that you know has been deleted or expired (same thing).
I have tried services like snapnames, but I find they are quite pricey and you pay even if you don't get the snapback.

I still sometimes have a look at deleteddomains.com for some good ones, but I haven't in awhile.

I don't see anything wrong with it. People do all kinds of things in domain name wars for a variety of reasons. If the domain has dropped, for whatever reason, it is fair game. If someone steals domains and then tries to sell them, that is one issue. If the domain is legally up for sale, it's fair game.

It's just the electronic version of going to garage sales, auctions, or flea markets. The items up for sale are all stuff someone else once owned, but is being placed for sale for whatever reason.

Ok. Maybe that isn't the best analogy, but people buy and sell stuff all the time. Expired domains are no different.

thank you both Chris and Panky for sharing your thoughts. I will go away with better feeling that the ones i registered over the past month.

idea stealing, NOT into that..

Its like searching for a name that has never been registered but in this case it had.

I use to use dotster's search, but never knew if that list was generated from a already deleted domain list.

Thanks for your time and have a great day!

Just watch out you may get a domain that has been banned from google or other SE. In which case it's useless!
