Take a big black magic marker.... and write on it.... "I am a pornographer".
I do it all the time and I've never been called in.

Tell them you're prejudiced against all races and religions and twitch in your seat.
That usually works.

Have fun! LOL!
I've never been called for local jury duty, (county/state), but have been summoned for Federal. The people in the jury pool were quite interesting and entertaining to say the least. Security was intense. We were escorted everywhere including the bathrooms. The first day was fine. By the end of the second and third day, I was like, just either pick me for a jury or let me go home. Even with a good book to read, it was a long few days until all the jurors were selected.

A guy just got jail time for that. Contempt of court was the charge, I think.
However, you don't have to go to extremes like that guy did. The attorneys will ask
you lots of questions looking for some hint of a reason that they want to get rid of you.
It shouldn't be hard to give them an answer that isn't exactly what they wanted to hear.
Alternatively, you could just do your civic duty and it might even be a little bit fun too,
Then you can walk out of there with self esteem knowing you did the right thing,
rather than walking out knowing you're a liar, and a lazy one at that.
PS - the DA will be present, if it's a criminal cas, so I wouldn't suggest using your line of
work to get out of jury duty, although it would probably work.

Do you think before you speak or type? Yeah it might be fun and interesting but I just don't have time for it right now. My son keeps me quite busy around here so I don't know where you get off calling me lazy, or a liar. I pay my taxes, I vote and I even volunteer.....So PLEASE spare me the pathetic speech!
I happen to be going back to school to finish my education in criminology so this is very interesting to me, the time is just not right!

Crawl back under your rock idiot. Unlike you most people have lives and don't have time for jury duty. Do you even know FB before you make such a statement?

Dude, wtf is with calling her a liar and lazy? Thats pretty a pretty ignorant and boneheaded thing to say without knowing her situation.
I was called for jury duty back in the winter right when we had a lot of problems at Submitpasses. I could not afford to miss the time at work not for financial reasons, but because I was primary on the project. I tried to get them to exclude me on the current pool and come back to me again in a few months, but I was denied the request. So I didn't shave for 2 weeks before having to show up, and I wore the dirtiest farm clothing I had on the day I had to go in. When I was called up for consideration I was immediately passed over by the defense council.
The trial was for those alleged Canadian terrorists which would have meant I would have been stuck there for months.
Am I lazy and a liar too because of the way I got out of jury duty?

don't they have to interview you?
you really have no way of getting out of it unless you have a special cause such as your pregnant or family emergency

LOL! I grew up around the Amish. Definitely wouldn't have worked since everyone knows the Amish don't vote. Might work here though since the Amish are pretty much non-existent.

After 22 years of being a registered voter, I was finally picked. Went, sat in for a final picking, and got rejected.
Dunno why. I was looking forward to it. My dad had been picked twice, but me, never.
If you REALLY want out, just ask them to explain what "Jury nullification" means.
They'll send you home right quick.

Base your answers to the questions ... if they ask your views on a right wing subject go left .. just don't over do it .. and remember your answers. The questions will repeat themselves
Myself I would do it, I find that type of stuff very interesting.

Tell them your a lawyer that should get you out of it. They do not want someone like that on a jury.
I would just tell them you believe in the death penalty and longer prison terms.

Not being hostile, but if you read the post he's quick to make up an opinion...Talking about self esteem, being a liar and a lazy one at that. Trust me you'll know when I am hostile. Civic duty sure, but my duties as a mother surpass ANY other duty.

I am 100% behind FunBrunette on this matter. It is ignorant for someone to assume she is being a liar and lazy. Being a Mommy is full time and that is her number 1 responsibility. You don't have children Vid do you? 2 cents

As far as raymor is concerned, yes it is perfectly ok to speak ones mind and express their point of view.
The people that spoke out and called this person stupid, an idiot, whatever where simply speaking their minds such as this person has done. Expressing their opinion in response to his/her post.
'Hostile' or not, it is still them expressing their opinions on the matter. One can't expect to make a comment such as this person has done, even more so concerning someone who is well liked on and off the board, and not expect to catch a little flack in return.
