What happened to your laptop? Unless it was some high end $3k model, why not just buy a new one and copy your important shit over?

I ended up buying a new laptop y-day the 26th. My 17" Acer
died Sunday after I kicked it out of bed one time too many, so
it's going to be away for 2 weeks or so getting repaired
(warranty). So rather than be with out for 2 or 3 weeks, I went
and got the small Averatec I had been eyeing up.

I had been wanting buy it for a while but coundn't justify
it ...... now I have a lighter smaller laptop I can more easily
take with me and hopefully get more accomplished via open wifi
networks.
