Resource sites
How many people actually use resource sites? I'm not talking about just participating on the corresponding board.
- Do you actually use them or just place listings there?
Do you read the articles and tutorials?
How important do you think it is to actually get site(s) listed in a resource directory?
How many of them do you visit and which ones are your favorites?
I was just curious. I was researching today and was checking out resource sites. Some of these places have tons of links.

I use them for sure. And I always read the articles. I get most of the newsletters so it's easy to click the link for something that looks interesting.

Resource sites are alive and well... just do an alexa search on some of the major ones and check out the trends. I find that most people who use resource sites don't post.

I agree with LAJ. I check out multiple resource sites for news, articles, tutorials, etc. It's great for keeping you up to date on what's going on in the industry.

I love resource sites. Its very easy to become alienated when you work in a virtual world and reading articles, news and message boards keep you up to date on whats going on, what may go on in the near future, etc.
XBiz is my favorite resource site today, followed closely by YNotMasters. Of course, some people prefer YNotMasters, but its all really a matter of preference. |

I am not one to spend hours reading through them, but they can be helpfull if I'm looking for something specific. Mind you once I'm in a resource site, I'll usually end up reading a few things that just catch my eye. All in all, I think they are a good thing.
