Platinum Spam
I just got spammed for the umpteenth time by a Platinum Bucks affiliate.
I'm giving Platinum Bucks the benefit of the doubt that it was one of their affiliates, and not PB spamming their own sites from email lists of questionable origin.
I say "questionable" because the email I received it on was a completely made up address that one of my POP accounts collects. ie.. :anything:@ domain.com
Of all the affiliate programs that exist, and there are a lot of them... I get spammed most often by Platinum Bucks sites. I wouldn't start this thread if it wasn't happening A LOT. Hell, the occasional errant spam in my inbox is almost expected in this day and age, but this is getting out of hand.
I used to forward them to PB, but I get so many now that I don't even bother anymore.
So a message to you Dave.... clean up your lists!!!!

I get a crap load of platinum spam. Gave up on that as well, can only say so much and it's whatever.
I also get an ignorant amount from Orgasm as well. I've complained to them as well.
IT is what it is. It's funny as well, I just made a new e-mail addy last week, and signed up for a few programs as an affiliate, the next day I got spam from them. Why spam someone when they just signed up to send you traffic??
I've said it once and i'll say it again one word has fucked up this industry

I think it's as much stupidity as it is greed. There are quite a few tgps out there that have all kinds of strict rules about the galleries you submit. And then they slam you with popups and dialers on the email confirmation page.

AGREED!!
This is one thing that pisses me off to no end.
Not that I use popups, or WANT to use popups, but I hate being sent into popup hell by another webmaster. These people must truly have targetted traffic. |

Blah blah blah I love spam. This industry was built on spam.
A few days ago we got a complaint from our host that someone was spamming. We haven't gotten a complaint about someone spamming our sites in a long, long time. The guy was quickly shut down.
I would think spam is about worthless these days.
