What would cause this

I decided the other day to try a sponsor I had never used. I threw up some hosted gals to see how well traffic would flow. After a few hours I went and checked my stats and I had XX ammount of hits, then 4 hours later I checked and had 0 all across the board. Now I check and I have half the ammount I had to begin with. any suggestions on what might cause that??...lol
